Sculpting the Human Torso:
Intro to Anatomy
Instructor: Heather Tolleson
If you’ve ever struggled to understand how muscular structure is dictating surface form in your figure studies,
then this class is for you.
Students will work from a live model in order to study proportion and learn major skeletal and muscular structures of the human torso, while keeping the emphasis on the lyrical, expressive quality of the work.
Going forward, this will help you to troubleshoot forms that may be difficult to decipher on smoother, less muscular figures; better understand relationships between structures for more accurate representation of gesture (weight, balance, and implied action); and interpret asymmetrical poses while maintaining anatomical accuracy. All levels welcome. All tools, clay, model fees and one firing are included. Tuition: $475
Two-Day Workshop:

(w/ 1-hr lunch break)
