Sculpting Hollow: Intro to Ceramic Slabs

Learn the method of building 2-section, hollow sculptures, vases, and jars in clay. This method saves material and the labor of hollowing out finished pieces, while making a strong permanent piece that is lightweight. During this workshop, we will learn how to make slabs and store them, then build a bottom section and learn how to create the joint that locks the sections together. Finally, we will learn how to close the top opening from the outside. Beginners welcome. All tools, clay, and one firing are provided.
