Sculpting Large:  Ceramic Slabs

 

 

Learn the methods of building large-scale, hollow sculptures in clay. First we develop a scaled model, and then create the large, finished piece with an emphasis on ceramic techniques and visual quality. This method saves clay, making a strong permanent sculpture that is lightweight. Prior experience working with clay is recommended. Course covers either figurative or abstracted from life, photos or drawings. All tools, 50 pounds of clay, and one firing are provided.
