Intermediate Mold Making

 

Recommended for sculptors who want to sell their art! Learn the mold-making secrets of the masters in this intensive class. Make your ideas reproducible and market ready by learning tips and techniques for making complex molds and reproductions (up to 12 inches tall). Students will make a hard multi-piece plaster mold from a clay original and a flexible silicon mold from an existing piece. Cast in ceramics, HydroCal, polymers or foundry-ready waxes. Experiment with the newest materials and techniques used by professional mold-makers. Wear old clothing because you will get messy! Most mold materials, tools, and supplies are provided. There will be an additional cost for large amounts (over a quart) of polymers. Tuition: $365
